My Day at the NC-IAGC-2026 National Conference in Raipur
Honestly, it's very easy to get swallowed up by our daily routine of taking classes, marking papers, and handling college paperwork. But I've always believed that to keep our classrooms lively and give our students something fresh, we have to step out of our usual routines every now and then. That's why I traveled over to Raipur on May 2nd to attend the National Conference on Interdisciplinary Approaches to Global Challenges (NC-IAGC-2026).
This conference was set up by the Faculty of Commerce & Management at Shri Davara University, Raipur. They partnered with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences over at NIT Raipur to put it together. It was refreshing to see a management school and a tech heavy-weight like NIT join forces. That mix alone promised that the talks weren't just going to be dry, theoretical chatter.
Why Breaking Down Silos Matters
The core message of the whole event was pretty clear: the old way of looking at big issues through just one narrow lens doesn't cut it anymore. Whether we're looking at tricky economic trends, environmental problems, or how to keep businesses ethical, everything is tangled together.
I was there representing our team at LCIT College of Commerce and Science. I spent most of the day jumping between technical sessions and chatting with other faculty members during the breaks. Hearing from the folks behind the scenes—like Dr. Chetna Sharma Rajput from NIT Raipur, along with Prof. Manisha Pandey, Dr. Varun Ganjir, and Dr. Charmi Davara from Shri Davara University—made me realize just how much hard work is going into reshaping higher education in our state right now.
What This Means for Our Classrooms at LCIT
I've always felt that going to these events is pointless if you just collect a certificate, put it in a drawer, and forget about it. The real worth comes from what you carry back to your own campus:
- Making things real for our students: When we mix real-world commerce and management with social ethics, it helps our students see the bigger picture. It prepares them for what a real career looks like, not just how to pass an exam.
- Opening new doors: Rubbing shoulders with people from NIT Raipur and Shri Davara University gives us a chance to plan future guest lectures, joint projects, or just share notes on what's working in our respective departments.
- Better project guidance: Seeing what current researchers are focusing on helps me mentor our own students much better. It ensures their final year projects stay tied to real-world issues.
A Quick Thank You
I want to thank the management and leadership at LCIT College of Commerce and Science for always backing us up when we want to attend these national meets. Without that kind of support, it's hard to stay connected with what's happening outside our own walls. Also, a big shout out to the organizing teams at both Shri Davara University and NIT Raipur for hosting us so well and keeping everything running smoothly.
I'm looking forward to bringing a lot of these thoughts back into our lecture halls and research work. Let's keep trying new things and opening up better doors for our students!
